For the thrill of spending time on the water at high altitude, go to one of Summit County's marinas on Dillon Reservoir and enjoy a boat ride. The pleasure of it is the fresh air and 360-degree views. Rentals and tours are available as well as a water taxi from one side of the lake to the other. Hop on the water taxi and let your cares float away. Bring a picnic or a snack to enjoy while you sail or float along. It's just so beautiful out there on the lake. Cycling on the bike paths around Lake Dillon and up over Swan Mountain is another way to see it all. The Dillon Amphitheater is nearby, and there are different types of open-air entertainment on summer days and nights. The area around the Dillon Lake marina is a good one to snowshoe or hike along with the family or dog in winter. Views with snow-covered peaks make you want to stay.
